A lot of us are spending more time at home these days. Our clinics are open for community members with extensive care needs, but we thought we’d share one way you can give your device some extra attention while at home.

Bio-Tech’s Jennifer Robinson pulls from her experience as a prosthetic user to help us develop patient-focused programs. Part of her role is to provide peer support to others who may be new to limb loss. In this segment, Jennifer shows us how she keeps her prosthesis clean in between prosthetic appointment visits.

“My prosthesis is a tool that I use daily. Occasionally taking time out of my day to clean it and make sure it’s in tip top shape is important. I’m comfortable showing people how I do this and I hope that someone finds the information useful. It was actually really fun making this video!”

Jennifer uses a skin-fit above knee prosthesis with a microprocessor knee and a foot with an adjustable heel. Cleaning instructions are unique for prosthetic design. If you use prosthetic liners, or another type of system, talk to your prosthetist about the best way you can clean your prosthesis at home.
